The Postgraduate Department is here to support every postgraduate student with their academic pursuits. We know that postgraduates are a unique and diverse cohort of students. RUSU wants to provide postgrad students with a well-balanced experience at university by running postgrad-specific events including masterclasses, workshops, seminars, along with the fun and enjoyable social events at RUSU.
The RUSU Postgraduate Association (RPA) is run by the Postgraduate Department and focuses on bringing together a postgraduate community across the university. This department aims to make sure that postgrad students are heard, represented and encouraged to get involved in the RMIT community.
There are currently around 10,000 postgraduate students undertaking studies at RMIT at all campuses and from a vast array of disciplines. The Higher Degree by Research Association (HDRA) is a collective that represents and assists all HDR candidates. The HDRA aims to further the communication, community and career development of its members.
The Council of Australian Postgraduate Associations (CAPA) is a not-for-profit organisation which promotes the needs and rights of postgraduate students. RUSU are affiliates of CAPA, and your representative for 2017 is Jeremy Davies (RUSU Postgraduate Officer).
Keep up-to-date with all the latest information by joining the Facebook group. The group is a platform where all postgraduate students from both coursework and research cohorts use in order to communicate their concerns to the RUSU Postgraduate Department. All postgraduate students are also welcome to use this group as a medium through which they can interact with each other for both social and intellectual development.
