Photonics Society (RPS)

The RMIT Photonics Society (formerly the University OSA Student Chapter) was affiliated to the Optical Society of America (OSA). The majority of its' members were PHD students. 

The Society's main aim was to bring together students who are interested in the field of optics. This was done through workshops, social events, seminars and outreach programs among other activities. The Society aimed to provide students with an opportunity to understand and gain insight into the field of optics and its' applications. 

Unfortunately, the club's registration has lapsed. 

If enough RMIT students are interested in re-booting this club (at least 20) as part of our midyear intake,  please get one of you to reach out to the Clubs Department so we can assist. Email us at rusu.clubs@rmit.edu.au 

Please note that, to be eligible for a formal leadership role, a student would need to be continuing enrolment at RMIT until at least mid 2025.
